Solo Art Show Requirements at Lycoming Arts Professional Gallery

Welcome to Lycoming Arts Professional Gallery! This page provides artists with the preferred requirements for presenting a solo art show in our space. Our gallery is designed to showcase your talent in a professional and welcoming environment for the community to enjoy.

Accepted Media We welcome a diverse range of media, including:

  • Paintings
  • Drawings
  • Sculpture*
  • Fibers
  • Prints
  • Photographs
  • Videos*
  • Augmented Reality (AR)*
  • Virtual Reality (VR)*

* Artists working with these media should have a plan to provide the necessary technology for their work.

Gallery Space Details

Wall spaces utilize the configurable Walker Hanging System. The gallery includes several small pedestals and tables for three-dimensional works. There is also space in the front window to display several pieces. Artists should plan to display approximately 15-25 pieces depending on the size of their artwork.

Components Artists Should Include:

Each artwork must be accompanied by a museum card label that may include some of the following:

  • Title: The name of the artwork
  • Artist: Your name
  • Price: The price of the piece or "NFS" (Not for Sale)
  • Date: The date the artwork was created
  • Materials: The materials used to create the artwork
  • Location: The location the artwork was photographed
  • Context: Information about the history, culture, and interpretation of the artwork
  • Chat: A short text explaining the "how" and "why" of the artwork

Placement of Museum Labels

  • Labels should be placed close to the artwork they describe.
  • Position labels at eye level or lower.
  • Place labels on the side of the artwork that visitors will approach first.
  • Additionally, attach a copy of the label to the back of each piece of artwork.

Other Requirements

Artwork must be family-friendly and appropriate for children of all ages, and avoid politics and religion. Include an artist sign featuring your name, biography, artist statement, and photos.

Think about ways to market yourself and your brand and artwork, like a stack of business cards, creative stickers, or a printed catalog of your work.

Once you submit your information and examples of your art, our Selection Committee reviews submissions and let's you know if you are accepted for a solor show in our gallery.
